Enviro-Save FAQ

KleenOil FAQ

Why should I use Enviro-Save?

Enviro-Save works by reducing friction inside of your engine and helps it to operate more efficiently. An engine that has been Enviro-Save treated will save you real dollars by reducing wear and tear, increasing fuel economy, and cutting down on trips to the shop for unscheduled maintenance. An engine that operates more efficiently will feel more powerful. Since Enviro-Save is a one-time treatment, you can enjoy the benefits of a smoother, more powerful vehicle from a one-time investment.

How long does the Enviro-Save treatment last?

The Enviro-Save resin will last until removed. Enviro-Save penetrates the asperity structure of the metal and becomes an integral part of the metal. In a properly treated engine all wear happens at Enviro-Save-to-Enviro-Save surfaces instead of metal-to-metal surfaces, reducing friction. The micro-thin resin can only be removed by machining it out or by heating the metal greater than 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. If the resin is damaged by anything that makes it past the air filter, the Enviro-Save resin has a self-healing property that will repair thin spots or scuffs. There are over 600,000 applications performing as well today as when they were first treated.

Why do diesel buses and truck engines require additional Enviro-Save product?

The Enviro-Save resin is driven deeper into the asperity structure of the metal by the higher compression found in diesel engines. Since the benefits of the Enviro-Save resin comes from Enviro-Save-to-Enviro-Save contact inside of the engine, more product is required to adequately form the surface.  It is the Enviro-Save resin on the surface of the metal that protects the engine from wear. Turbo-charged and Super turbo-charged diesel engines have even higher than normal compression and require more Enviro-Save liquid than an average diesel engine.  Buses require more fuel additive because of the complexity of service from the time they leave the garage until they return many hours later.

Will Enviro-Save stop my engine from burning oil?

Enviro-Save will reduce oil consumption if sticking rings causes the problem. Rings stick if deposits of carbon and varnish form on the rings or ring grooves. These deposits slow down or stop normal ring action. The cleaning complex in Enviro-Save attacks the bad deposits and leaves behind the Enviro-Save resin, which helps your engine run smoothly and efficiently.

Must I add Enviro-Save every time I change my oil?

NO!  Enviro-Save is a One-Time treatment of the metal inside of your engine, not an oil treatment that must be changed every time you change the oil. This is where we excel with our products.  Using Enviro-Save treatment is a one-time investment in the life of your vehicle.

Does the oil have to be changed before treatment with Enviro-Save?

Due to the excellent cleansing action of Enviro-Save, deposits of carbon and varnish are put into suspension in the lubrication system. These by-products of imperfect combustion may put a burden on the filtering system. So it is advisable, especially in older engines, to change the oil before treating your engine. Our representatives will help you install the product.

How long does Enviro-Save remain in the engine before changing my oil?

The Enviro-Save resin forms within 1,000 miles (1,600 km). This time is needed for the Enviro-Save resin to get burnished into the asperity structure of the metal. At this point, you should check your oil. If the Enviro-Save cleaning complex has removed deposits from your engine, the oil will be dirty and should be changed to prevent stress on your filtering system. Any resin that is unused will come out with the dirty oil. Enviro-Save will not change tolerances or replace metal that had been worn away.   Enviro Save will not affect the fluid or change the characteristics of any fluid.

Can I over treat my vehicle with Enviro-Save?

When you treat your engine with Enviro-Save the first time, the Enviro-Save resin is forced into the asperity structure of the metal. When the Enviro-Save product has formed and no more resin can be squeezed into the surface of the metal, the rest of the Enviro-Save resin will hang in suspension until your next oil change when it goes out with the waste oil. Additional treatments will not form a better surface than the first one, so continually re-treating an engine is a waste of your money.

How much increased fuel economy will I get using Enviro-Save?

It is hard to state an exact amount of fuel savings coming from using the Enviro-Save metal treatment because every engine is different. Typically, our lab testing resulted in 4% in fuel savings, but if you use the benefits of Enviro-Save to get a little more power out of your engine, the horse power will go up and not the miles per gallon (or gallons per hour for boat and aviation users). One of the other real benefits of the protective Enviro-Save product is savings in the long term on maintenance and extended component life. 46% Reduction of metal wear is normal.

Will Enviro-Save damage my engine?

The Enviro-Save engine treatment works in two stages. First, the Enviro-Save cleaning complex clears the engine of the carbon, varnish, and sludge that can accumulate through normal use. After the engine is clean, the Enviro-Save product forms on the wear metal surfaces. None of that process is inherently harmful to any engine. The manufacturer of Enviro-Save Products has full faith in the products and is proud to offer their customers an unconditional money back guarantee.   This product will not void any manufacturer warranty.

What about other products that make similar claims to Enviro-Save?

Enviro-Save has been in business since 1992 and we have seen many similar products come and go. Most of the other products are oils or oil treatments while Enviro-Save is a one-time metal treatment. Enviro-Save can be used to treat the top end of the engine through the fuel and the rest of the engine through the crankcase.

What happens with my vehicle warranty if I use Enviro-Save?

Enviro Save DOES NOT void any warranty.  To void a warranty the equipment manufacturer must prove that a particular product did damage to an engine. There is nothing in Enviro-Save to damage an engine when properly used. Although many original equipment manufacturers threaten to 'void the warranty' if recommended lubricants are not used, none of them will put it in writing.

Does the Enviro-Save Products deteriorate from high temperatures or acids found in the engine?

No. The Enviro-Save product is resistant to harmful chemicals and acids. The Enviro-Save product will withstand continuous operating temperatures much higher than those present in any engine.

Why is KleenOil considered Environmentally friendly?

Oil is a finite resource and will inevitably run out one day. Because the Kleenoil filter keeps oil running longer, you will have to purchase less oil throughout the now extended life of the unit. Consequently, engines and hydraulic systems with the Kleenoil Filtration System installed will create less used oil. Disposing of used, contaminated oil creates a risk to the environment and proper disposal methods must be followed to safeguard the environment for future generations. Reducing the amount of fluid that has to be disposed is one way of reducing our impact on the the already over-taxed environment.

Does KleenOil reduce water in the engine?

As engine components heat up and cool down, water will become present in your engine. As small amounts of diesel fuel, which contains sulphur, pass by the piston rings and end up in the oil, the sulphur in the fuel will mix with the water to create sulphuric acid. The Kleenoil filter will remove water to less than 0.05% and therefore greatly reduces the formation of sulphuric acid that will cause accelerated wear to engine components.

Does KleenOil reduce contaminents and dirt from the oil?

Dirt and wear metals will always be present in hydraulic and engine oil. Indeed, most fluid changes are performed in order to rid oil of dirt and contaminants.

Accelerated wear and damage to equipment can be caused by particles around 3 to 6 microns in size, yet conventional filters only filter out particles down to approximately 10 microns in size.

Kleenoil filters, however will filter out particles down to 1 micron, thereby reducing the number of engine failures and rebuilds.

What is KleenOil's greatest benefit?

Extends Drain Intervals & Reduces Time Needed for Service

Certain components, such as dispersants, detergents, oxidation and rust inhibitors, pour-point depressants, metal de-activators, and anti-foaming and gelling agents, are purposely placed in lubrication oil to enhance its performance. Although the Kleenoil system removes dirt, contaminants, wear-metal particles, and water, it does not remove these necessary and useful additives.

Because it is kept clean and free of water, as well as retaining its additive package, oil filtered through the Kleenoil system can be run longer without any risk whatsoever to the engine. Proper oil analysis will indicate the oil's life span, but our experience has shown that the Kleenoil Filtration System can extend the drain interval up to ten times.

Changing the Kleenoil Filter Cartridge requires much less time than what is required to perform a conventional full fluid change. Simply remove the lid from the container, take out the old cartridge and replace it with a new one. This can be done in less than 10 minutes and without the worry of spilling oil and disposing of contaminated fluids.
